A member of the European Parliament’s influential Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee praised the EVCA Handbook of Professional Standards during a video interview. Dr Wolf Klinz, a German Liberal MEP, also said that private equity is a “growth generator” that can help Europe’s recovery from the financial crisis.
Dr Klinz gave the interview at this year’s EVCA Responsible Investment Summit in Brussels. Discussing the Handbook, he said he would welcome other industries following the EVCA’s lead in drawing up jointly agreed principles of accountability, transparency and governance.
Both the Handbook and the Summit are examples of how seriously European private equity is taking responsible investment and environment, social and governance (ESG) issues. You can read and watch a video about the Handbook.
